Who we are 

Salted Logic Inc. is an Indigenous-led creative studio based in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit saltedlogic.com, why we collect it, and what choices you have. 

We keep this simple on purpose. We are a small studio, not an advertising company. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for behavioral advertising.

What this policy covers 

This policy applies to saltedlogic.com and to messages you send us through the site. It does not cover other websites we link to, or social media platforms where you may find us — those are governed by their own policies. 

Information you give us 

Contact and inquiry forms. If you reach out through a form on our site, we collect the information you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, organization, and the content of your message. We use it to respond to you and to keep a record of our correspondence. 

Mailing list. If you subscribe to our list, we collect your email address and any name you provide. We use it to send occasional updates about our work, projects, and publications. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can leave at any time. 

We only ask for what we need. We do not require an account to use this site, and we do not collect payment information through it. 

Information collected automatically 

We use Framer’s built-in analytics to understand how the site is used — which pages people visit, how they found us, and roughly where in the world they are. This tool is designed to be privacy-preserving: it does not use cookies, does not create persistent identifiers, and does not follow you across other websites. The information it produces is aggregate and does not identify you personally. 

Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider processes standard technical information — such as IP address and browser type — as a necessary part of delivering pages to you securely. 

Cookies 

Our site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Because our analytics tool is cookieless, we do not display a cookie consent banner. If we ever add a service that sets non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first. 

How we use your information 

We use the information described above to: 

• respond to your inquiries and correspond with you about our work 

• send updates to people who have asked to receive them 

• understand how the site is used so we can improve it 

• protect the site against abuse, and meet our legal and record-keeping obligations 

We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell it. 

Who we share it with 

We share information only with the service providers that help us operate — for example, our website host, our email service, and our mailing list provider. These providers process information on our behalf and under our instruction: 

• Framer — website hosting, form handling, and analytics 

• Google Workspace — our business email 

• Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.) — mailing list management and delivery 

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our studio, our collaborators, or the public. 

How long we keep it 

We keep correspondence for as long as it is useful to the working relationship and to our records, and mailing list subscriptions until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will do so unless we are required to keep it. 

How we protect it 

We use reputable providers with encryption in transit, limit access to the people in our studio who need it, and use multi-factor authentication on our accounts. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the care you would expect of a studio entrusted with community and cultural material. 

Your choices and rights 

You can, at any time: 

• ask what personal information we hold about you 

• ask us to correct it 

• ask us to delete it 

• unsubscribe from our mailing list 

• ask us not to use it in a particular way

Visitors from the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have rights under the GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where we process your information, we do so on the basis of your consent (for the mailing list), our legitimate interest in operating and improving our site, or to take steps at your request before entering into an agreement. 

California residents. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. If you would like to exercise rights under the CCPA/CPRA, contact us at the address above and we will honor requests to the extent they apply to us. 

Children 

Our site is intended for a general and professional audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it. 

Links to other sites 

Our site links to other organizations, publications, and platforms. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies. 

Changes to this policy 

We may update this policy as our work and our tools change. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted clearly.
