Youth Podcast Workshop

Additional elements of this portfolio will be accessible soon.

In March 2021, the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center partnered with Salted Logic to bring their Youth Access Program to students from Hawai’i. Due to the social distancing requirements of the COVID-19 pandemic, the workshop enrollment was limited to youth but this ended creating an intimate environment where each participant felt safe to share. their lived experience. The four-day workshop sought to give the next generation the tools and knowledge to become effective and influential storytellers. Salted Logic set the stage to allow for hard conversations about language, identity, and culture – centered around the word ‘hapa’ – and the students rose to the occasion.

They called me ‘Hapa’ is a three-part audio experience that guides you through conversations about self-acceptance, group identity, and multiculturalism. We welcome you to listen, subscribe, and review wherever you get your podcasts!
