As the founder of Salted Logic, Naiʻa is the company’s champion. She is a multidisciplinary professional who leverages her twenty-five years of experience to help clients reach their goals. From innovative media, high-impact communication products, and culturally-driven design, to resilient partnerships and improving team creativity and collaboration, Naiʻa uses Salted Logic to express her value of community and intergenerational learning.

Naiʻa excels at culturally-centered design, reimagining outdated narratives, integrating multiple knowledge systems, and amplifying the voices of marginalized groups, particularly those of women, and indigenous peoples. In cooperation with the Salted Logic team, she is able to merge her communications background with her professional and lived experience to effectively translate heritage, history, and culture for diverse audiences.

Naiʻalso splits her time as Director of Big Ocean, a network of the world's large-scale marine managed areas. Having spent more than a decade working with and for the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries at Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument, she helped build the foundation of the network and its brand. From its earliest stages through the present day, Naiʻa ensures network remains rooted in relationships between and amongst the people who are committed to saving our seas and the communities that are tied to them. For more than a decade, Naiʻa has fostered partnerships that support capacity building, regional learning, and integrating multiple knowledge systems to enhance global marine governance and management.

Born and raised on the southeastern shore of the island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi, Naiʻa graduated from Punahou School then earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. Naiʻa has also been a certified Optimize Coach (Heroic) since 2020. Naiʻa is a daughter, sister and mother of four who loves cooking (eating), multi-media art, audio books, going to the beach, and international travel.

Naiʻa is currently incubating a few passion projects. The first is iMahina, a moon-based personal performance app and journal. The second is a podcast tentatively called Sacred Sauce. Click here to listen to a selection of conversations from her previous shows.
