Moon-Based Productivity.

iMahina – Moon-Based Productivity

Inspired by our ancestors, the app is rooted in Native Hawaiian traditions of observation to correlate levels of productivity, in nature and oneself, with the moon.

  • 3. Use daily.

The iMahina App requires you to document your daily experience, in order to create a baseline of personal information. The more data you input, the richer your outcomes are; the more detailed your personal pattern. After two consecutive months, two full lunation cycles, you will begin to see how the moon phases correlate to your physical, mental, and intuitive states. After about four months, you will be able to identify patterns; with a year’s worth of data, you could start to see trends, especially if you make intentional changes to your daily habits, self-care, and self-talk. Consider making journal entries (even 1-2 sentences). These tidbits could be a significant tool to reflect upon when you decide to identify what habits uplift or detract from your purpose and potential. You can also use the app in combination with our hard copy journal or a journal of your own.

  • What you track.

The app will ask you to rank four different states using a 0-6 scale. There is also a fun emoji ranking that is great for those days where you need to keep it simple or if you want to go over the top (and add some fun into your day).

    The states we rank are:

    1. Kino (body - physical)

    2. Manaʻo (mind - mental)

    3. Naʻau (emotional / spiritual)

    4. Aniani Ku (self-image / body image)

  • Mindset.

the full range is a 0-6 scale. The “normal” range is 1-5 with 3 being your average. You should reserve 0 and 6 for exceptional times of very high or very low states of energy, focus, and resilience. We recommend entering or ranking your states within an hour of getting up (and before coffee!). You can return later to fill in your journal entry or reviewing previous days.

So, what is the normal range?

The answer must be based on your own scale; your own normal and not a comparison to others or social perceptions of normal. For example, if you are normally a high-energy person, your normal is what you feel like at your best, or when you are taking care of yourself. Your three could be someone elseʻs five.
